Today is the legendary Friday the first day of “Þorri,” also known as “Bóndadagur” (Farmer's day). Today the meaning of Bóndadagur is more like Husband appreciation day – sort off.
The Þorri season is midwinter celebration held since pagan times. Its all about meeting your friends, celebrating and most importantly feasting on very authentic Icelandic food like sour rams testicles, cured shark, sheared sheep heads and other wonderful delicates. Brennivín ( Black Death) the Icelandic snaps, is also a must have, some claim. Sounds great, right?
Some say you should try all food before judging it. This is the part when you say: “Challenge accepted”
