About 400 earthquakes were detected by the IMO's SIL seismic network, a bit more than the last week. Most activity was in N-Iceland. An earthquake swarm began about 12km NNE of Grimsey 28 January at 07:49 with an earthquake M4.1. The earthquake was felt in Grimsey and eastern part of Nordurland. This was also the largest earthquake in the week. A little less activity was in Vatnajökull this week than the week before. Similar activity was in Katla as the week before.
